Now happily married, Miranda and Theo live very busy lives, so when Valentine’s Day comes around Miranda doesn’t expect or want anything more, because with Theo, every day is a day for lovers…

They’re taking a stroll down to the harbour to chat about the progress Miranda has made with her project to bring music and musical instruments to disadvantaged children when Miranda spots a local fishing boat flying pennants and garlanded of flowers…

‘A romantic meal for me?’

‘Why not for you?’ Theo demands wryly, leading Miranda on board. ‘Don’t you like my cooking?’

‘Er…’

(Difficult moment here- does Miranda tell the truth, or does she go along with Theo’s plan? To date he’s burnt the toast and neglected to cook the pasta before ladling on the sauce…

But of course Miranda should have more confidence in her delicious alpha male, and here’s Theo’s perfect meal…

Take 1 deserted island; add Miranda and Theo, a picnic hamper, an ice box, and a fondue set with spirit stove…

Set background music of lazy waves lapping against a sugar sand beach with the murmur of conversation, soft laughter, and sighs…

Drain the marinade into the fondue pan, add 1 ½ pints chicken stock, a few fresh sage leaves, parsley stalks and peppercorns, and bring to the boil. Allow to simmer gently on the lighted spirit stove.

Cook the chicken and feed it to each other along with a selection of crisp salads and previously cooked rice.
